Dermal Fillers
At St Martins Dental & Implant Clinic, we offer dermal filler treatments in a safe, professional and regulated clinical environment, bringing the same standards of care to facial aesthetics as we do to all treatments in the practice.
We use hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that already occurs naturally in the body. In fact, around 50 percent of the body's HA is found in the skin. As we age, levels of HA decrease and our skin loses hydration. HA dermal fillers are one option that may help to support the skin's structures and moisture levels.
Dermal filler treatments are only available to patients aged 18 and over.
Facial Sculpting
Fillers can be used to define and enhance facial features, including the cheeks, under the eyes (tear troughs), the nose, chin and jawline. Treatment is always tailored to the individual, with results that aim to complement your natural features.
Lip Enhancement
Soft, hydrating fillers specially designed for the lip area may help to support fullness and definition. The lip line can be rebalanced and refined, with the degree of treatment always guided by your individual anatomy and what feels right for you.
Procedure
HA can be used to help address volume changes in the cheeks, nose, between the eyebrows and around the mouth, as well as the appearance of deeper lines.
We will discuss a personalised treatment plan with you at your consultation. There is no obligation to proceed, and we will always give you the time and information you need to make a decision that is right for you. All treatments are carried out by a trained clinician with experience in facial aesthetics.
The procedure involves a series of small, carefully placed injections to administer the filler. An anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand to help keep you comfortable, and the appointment typically takes between half an hour and an hour. Results vary from person to person and can last from a few months to a couple of years.
As with any treatment of this kind, there is a risk of side effects. These commonly include temporary redness, swelling or bruising at the treatment site. Rare but more serious complications can occur. Your clinician will discuss all potential risks and side effects with you in full before any treatment takes place.
